I dag er raffinaderiet i Fredericia verdens tredjemest energieffektive raffinaderi og nummer et i Europa. Således er det blandt andet Danmarks største leverandør af overskudsvarme til fjernvarme og leverer, hvad der svarer til mere end 23.000 almindelige husstandes årlige forbrug af fjernvarme – produceret ved at nyttiggøre overskudsvarme fra produktionen i stedet for at lade det gå til spilde.
