What is CERN?

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.

Take part

We like building things and breaking things. We like talking about the universe and particles, but we also like a bunch of other things. From mechanics, data science, software engineering, international relations, firefighting to our plans for a weekend in the mountains and lakes.

We like people like us, and we love people that are not like us. Experienced or not, whatever your field of expertise, let’s meet and make CERN a place like nowhere else on Earth. Take part!

Here you will find our current Graduate opportunities within various fields:

Relocating to CERN

In case you wonder about the challenges of moving abroad, we've got you covered. When you are offered a role at CERN you are provided with access to a number of resources to help you with the logistics of moving to the area.
